Advancements+ Has Dragons: January 24
Please review the license included with the pack. Section 2 (Allowed Usage) has been updated to more clearly explain how credit must be provided. Additionally, Section 3 (Redistribution and Source Authenticity) now prohibits bundling this datapack in a modpack or hiding it behind a paywall. The updated license will be included with the next version and this message will be removed the update after that.
Welcome to Advancements+! This datapack adds over 450 new advancements to the game without straying away from Vanilla Minecraft. From surviving your First Night to killing every Zombie variant within your world, this pack has something for everyone. With more being added every update, you're bound to keep enjoying your time completing this pack. Or, you know, struggle beyond oblivion. Here's what we have...
All of these advancements were carefully designed to be done in even the hardest of Hardcore worlds. Plus, this was also made to work with almost any other pack you may have in your own modpack.
Be warned: Adding this where another advancement datapack is may cause the two to interfere with each other and stop or confuse your game. As well, please keep in mind that this datapack is solely supported in English with no plans to change that.
Currently, this datapack includes 12 tabs in total:
Spoilers
Smelting
Fire up the Furnace! Smelting has gotten its own tab! Generally, furnaces are used to smelt ores for you to upgrade gear, but there are a handful of other things that can be smelted. Can you find them all?
Ocean
Time to get wet and go for a swim! The ocean is vast and ready for exploration. Why not add some goals to keep you occupied? Find the wrecks of those who sailed before you, or sit back and eat Kelp. The ocean is your oyster.
Friends & Food
This tab, originally Husbandry, highlights a lot of food-related tasks. There are animal ones sprinkled in there as well, letting the tab live up to its name. Some highlights include doing everything possible with Sweet Berries, making your food gold, and finding one of the rarest food items in the game.
First Night
This tab, originally Minecraft, has been redesigned with miniscule tasks you can do in your brand new world. The goal is to walk you through your very first night in the game, ultimately ending with sleeping in a bed. There are various ones that don't relate, but they remain relatively easy to do. This has been tested and is able to be complete before the first night is over.
Redstone
This resource is the foundation for every circuit, contraption, and machine seen across the game. It seemed only right to give it its own tab. Every block you know and more are here. Pistons, Repeaters, Daylight Detectors. Hunt them all down!
Iron
Another core resource in the game, iron is used in quite a few recipes. This tab is designed to highlight those recipes and more, showing you the limitless opportunities with this ore.
Updated Nether
Tour the fiery dimension with this updated tab! Advancements were added to include everything you may be able to do. Hunt down Ancient Debris, brave the Bastion, or be a Tourist and find every biome in the Nether.
Mining
Spelunk your way through the caves on your quest to mine every block found below the surface. If you can mine it, it's in here. You can even go as far as polishing some of the blocks you find! How deep will you go?
Updated Adventure
Adventure awaits! Exploration allows you to find new biomes, defeat challenging enemies, and explore lost structures. This tab has been updated to show you the limitless opportunities of these biomes. An adventurer's dream!
The Updated End
The barren biome at the end of the game, sparsed only by plants, buildings, and teleporting creatures. Can you complete the challenges left behind for you, or will you succumb to the void?
Copper
The Copper Age is upon us, so it gets highlights as its own tab! A more recent resource, copper can be used for a variety of decorative and useful things. It's just a matter of how much you want to mine...
Caves
In the darkness of the Overworld lie expansive networks of tunnels, turning you in every direction. Amethyst shimmers in the dark, Mineshafts call for fresh loot, and Lush Caves hang forebodingly. The caves await. What will you discover?
Upcoming Changes:
Spoilers
All of this content will be added with the next update and is subject to change at any time.
Added Advancements:
"Revenge" for killing a Creeper
"Gunned Down" for obtaining Gunpowder
"Controlled Detonation" for obtaining TNT
"A Mushroom & A Rod" for obtaining a Warped Fungus on a Stick
"Where No One Goes" for reaching Y-level 2000 (probably with an Elytra)
"You're A Firework" for getting firework rockets
Changed Advancements:
Any advancements that had their names changed will need to be obtained again. This is because I change the file names at the same time to match. Changing descriptions will not change the file name, so you will not need to obtain those again.
"Snowed In" is now titled "A Few Degrees South of Freezing to Death"
"Return Trip Home" is now titled "You Are My Homeward"
"You're My Best Friend, Bud" now has a Goal frame
"On Repeat" is now titled "Can You Repeat That?"
"Muttonhead" has had its description updated
"Where's My Steel?" has had its description updated
"Every Witch Way" now stems from "Revenge"
The Ocean tab root has had its description updated
"Salty Explorer" is now titled "How Far You'll Go". Weird that I fix it only to change what it's called.
"Clay And Night" is now titled "Clay & Night". There is no need to regain this advancement.
"Friends, Romans, Pigs..." is now titled "Brutes, Hoglins, Piglins..."
"Hang In There" (Iron Tab) is now titled "Hanging On"
"This Boat Has Legs" now stems from "A Mushroom & A Rod"
"Sweet Dreams" is now titled "See You Tomorrow". There is no need to regain this advancement.
"You're My Best Friend, Bud" & "Ocean Mount-ument" now trigger correctly
"Total Darkness" & the Caves tab root now trigger correctly
FAQ:
How Do I Submit A Bug Report?
If you have any suggestions or bugs to report, you can use the attached Google Form to send them directly to me. If any screenshots are included with the bug report, I will maintain a copy until I know what's wrong and then I will delete them.
Is This Mod Customizable?
Yes, this mod is customizable. Currently, you can only customize the datapack version since that was what it was originally made to be. All my advancement files and tab folders have the same name as what they're called in the game, so if you want one removed, look for that file name and drag it out of the pack entirely to disable it. Once that is done, use /reload in-game to reload the pack and ensure it is disabled. Your progress will not be lost when you do so.
Do be warned that getting rid of certain advancements may cause the entire advancement tree to go invisible. It still works, it just is not visible without that specific missing advancement. Proceed with caution.
How Do I Know What Each Advancement Is?
I am actively working on a Fandom Wiki Page to give a list of every advancement, what it references, and how to get it, as well as any other information required for the pack. Once a first draft is at a place where I can release it, the link will be added on the project page. Thank you to Vexalor for suggesting this idea!
Until that page is released, feel free to look through the folders and files! What you do with your download is your choice except re-releasing it anywhere. Please read the included license for more details. As mentioned above, all the advancement files are named as they appear in your world, and each is organized in folders according to their tab.
When Can I Expect A New Update?
If there is a major update to Minecraft on its way, I will always try to update the pack to align with its release. If that is the case, an announcement at the top of the pack description will be added so you know.
I may release smaller patches and updates beforehand. In this scenario, I don't tend to announce the update at all, so check back often to check for a brand new version! There are situations where I may announce an update before Mojang does, but it will just be a patch and not a major version.
How Can I Contact You?
You can contact me through this email: ogmfortnite@gmail.com, @OWindyfur on Twitter, or @windyfur on Discord! I'll be happy to respond. Just make your intent clear so I don't suspect spam.
Put 450% into this pack, try to find all the hidden references, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
