Ancient Planks

About

This mod makes any block located above the grass layer render with a wood plank texture instead of the default rock texture. This allows you to create wood plank houses on the surface, and dig caves and tunnels through the rock under the surface. This mod does NOT allow you to choose what blocks you place, and it does NOT add any new block types to the game; it only changes block textures. Enabling or disabling this mod will NOT break or corrupt your levels.

Why?

I wanted to make a mod for the first version of Minecraft, and this is the result. I also made a YouTube video on the development, creation, and thought proccess; if you're interested, you can find the video below.

Compatibility

This mod was made for version rd-132211, but it also works as expected on version rd-132328.

Installion

This mod is distributed as a zip file, and it can be installed as a jar mod. This mod does not require any mod loader to be installed. I would recommend against using the official Minecraft launcher to install this mod as it makes it harder to install. Instead I would recommend using a launcher like Prism Launcher or MultiMC which have options to install jar mods; it can be installed through these launcher by creating an instance with a compatible version selected, editing that instance and going to the verion tab, clicking add to Minecraft.jar, and selecting the mod.
